As a multinational company with 100% Brazilian capital, and counting on over eight decades of work, União Química built a history of achievements, being among the highlights of the ten biggest and soundest companies in Brazilian pharmaceutical industry.
União Química’s history started in 1936, when Laboratório Prata was founded. It was acquired, in 1970, by João Marques de Paulo, who, using his businessman vision, opened União Química Farmacêutica Nacional, a company that, since its very creation, has
always looked into the future.
União Química’s structure is based on two major divisions:
Human Health, which is among the highlights of the pharmaceutical market, with three business units: Hospital, Farma (OTC, Brands, and Generic Drugs), Genom (Medical Prescription), and Outsourcing.
Animal Health, which has a prominent position in veterinary market, in Pets, Animal Husbandry (Bovine, Sheep, Goats, and Swine)
and Animal Breeding areas.
Throughout its history, the company strengthened its work through significant acquisitions of different laboratories, brands, and product lines, as well as it built important partnerships in Brazil and abroad.
